Novel Lee Spivey Shaffer, 88, died Sunday, May 20, 2018. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on July 28, 1929 to the late James Oscar and Suzie Agee Spivey. Novel attended Crosswood Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Tom Shaffer; two sons Eddie Brinegar, Robert Brinegar and three daughters, Barbara Stringfield, Pat Fiar and Mary Estok.
She is survived by a son, Earl ‘Buddy’ (Greer) Brinegar Jr. and nineteen grandchildren and thirty-six great-grandchildren and twenty-four great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2018 at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Rev. Logan Hazelwood will officiate. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to American Legion Saufley Post 18.

I had been trying to check on Aunt Novel for so long. Was very sad to find this… and so sorry about the loss of your brothers and sisters. We sure had our fun times growing up… Charlie my brother who is 85 and myself are the only remaining Sharps. I would love to see you and Greer. ❤️Linda Kaye
