Norman J. Green Jr., 69, of Danville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025. Born on September 21, 1955, in Danville, he was the beloved son of Dorothy Akers Green and the late Norman Green. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sara Green, and his father, Norman Green Sr.

Norman proudly served his country in the United States Navy, carrying with him values of discipline, dedication, and honor that shaped the rest of his life. After his military service, he built a distinguished career as a senior designer and mechanical engineer, spending 25 years at Trane and 11 years at Panasonic, where his creativity and expertise left a lasting mark.

Beyond his professional life, Norman was a man of many passions. A talented artist, he expressed himself through painting and drawing and shared his gift as an active member of several local art clubs. He was also a proud member of the Optimist Club, dedicating his time to encouraging and uplifting others. Whether enjoying rides through the countryside, admiring cars, or creating art, Norman embraced life with joy and appreciation for its simple pleasures.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Rhonda Green; his children, Adam Green and Hannah Green; and his stepdaughters, Victoria Sheene and Myra (Justin) Ryan, whom he loved as his own. He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Akers Green, and his sisters, Michele Lynch and Melissa (Curt) Folger.  His family will forever treasure the love, strength, and kindness he shared with them throughout his life.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville, with Rev. Chris Morgan officiating. The pallbearers will be Wes Huffman, Curt Folger, Greg Lynch, Doug Wilson, Michael Clem, and DeWayne Green. Honorary pallbearers will be the DHS Class of 1974 and the Gathering Artists.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2025, prior to the service at Stith Funeral Home.

Memorial donations are suggested to Heritage Hospice or the Arts Center of the Bluegrass.
