Nancy L. Bromley
February 12, 1943 ~ June 5, 2024
Nancy Lynn Bromley, 81, of Danville, KY, formerly of New Castle, PA, died peacefully surrounded
by family on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. She was a beloved daughter, mother, friend, and grandmother.
Nancy was born in New Castle, PA on February 12, 1943. While growing up in Western
Pennsylvania, Nancy became an avid Steelers fan. Go Steelers! She enjoyed her football on Sunday and
just enjoyed TV in general. After attending New Castle High School, she met her soon-to-be husband,
Tom Bromley. On April 5, 1963, Tom and Nancy married. They just celebrated their 61st anniversary.
While Nancy worked at the local energy company in New Castle, PA, they started to plan a family
together. After starting their family with three kids, Nancy moved to Danville, KY in 1974 after Tom took a
job. As Tom continued his accounting career, Nancy worked part-time while raising three kids and got
them through school. Nancy was very dedicated to her family. She provided guidance, support, and
love for all the family. Nancy was very organized in her life and was always prepared. She had the ‘gift of gab’ and
enjoyed talking with anyone and everyone. She enjoyed her nightly conversations with friends and
family on the phone or in person. She was never lost for words. Also, Nancy loved her shopping. Kohl’s
department store stock might be taking a hit with Nancy no longer shopping. Preceding Kohl’s, it was
McAlpins in Lexington, KY where she visited frequently for herself and the three kids. Sometimes the
bags of clothes did not come out of the car until Tom went to work. She also enjoyed getting together
with friends to hang out at the neighborhood pool or play bridge. She loved playing games with her friends
and family especially her grandchildren, Elizabeth, and Parker. She cherished both and would do
anything for either of them. Furthermore, bowls of candy could be found throughout the Bromley
house including Nancy’s favorite, M&M’s (not the peanut). While being a devoted wife and mother, she
always had a four-legged furry friend in the house. She loved her dogs like they were family.
Nancy was a member of Indian Hills Christian Church in Danville, KY.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Wilson Wayne Phillis and Grace Elonora Phillis along
with her husband Thomas “Tom” Bromley.
She is survived by her children Jeff (Lori) Bromley of
Brentwood, TN, Todd Bromley (Sara) of Danville, KY, Greg (Jennifer) Bromley of Louisville, KY, and
grandchildren Elizabeth and Parker Bromley.
A celebration of life service will be held at Indian Hills Christian Church (1200 Lexington Road
Danville, KY) Tuesday, June 18th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, with a brief memorial at 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
