Mildred Jo Coyle Elliott

Mildred “Jo” Coyle Elliott of Danville went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 15, 2025.  Born in Boyle County on March 24, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Louise Rankin Milburn and Joseph “Jody” Milburn.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband of 37 years, Robert “Bobby” Coyle, and sisters, Margaret Ann Milburn and Barbara Selby.

Jo was a member of Perryville United Methodist Church and attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist.  She graduated from Perryville High School where she was a cheerleader and majorette for the Bulldogs.  After high school, she graduated from Fugazzi Business college and worked at the Kentucky State Hospital.

She often stated, “Being a mother was the most important job of all.”  She cherished her role as a “Gram.”

Jo will be remembered for her kindness, gentle smile, love of traveling, and love of the Kentucky Wildcats.

Jo is survived by her husband Monte Elliott, daughter, Susan Coyle Petitt, sons, Jeffrey Coyle and Alan Coyle, grandchildren, Ryan Petitt, Trevor Coyle, Carter Coyle, Ella Coyle, and Porter Coyle, and brothers, Harold Milburn, Roy Milburn, and Kenny Milburn.

The funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville.  Dean Carpenter will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Porter Coyle, Carter Coyle, Jeffrey Coyle, Alan Coyle ,Ryan Petitt, Joe Brummett, and Mike Brummett.  Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm prior to the service.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Perryville.
