Mary Pellicano

Mary LaBarbera Pellicano, 91, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018. She was born in Jamestown, New York on July 7, 1926 to the late John LaBarbera and the late Anna Coffaro LaBarbera. Mary worked as an LPN in California and the Florida area. She won woman of the year for four years, she was also in the Hall of Fame with Laura Bush in July 2007. Mary loved playing tennis, loved performing as a clown. She was a marvelous Italian cook and a devout Christian woman. She loved the water and always lived by the water. Mary loved life and was always on the go. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her loving husband, Salvatore Pellicano; two brothers, Nicholas J. LaBarbera and Vincent LaBarbera.
She is survived by a son Timothy Sal (Lisa) Pellicano of Perryville; a daughter, Pamela Susan (Stan) Shirley Moore of Sonora, Ca.; a sister, Nancy Bernhardt; three grandchildren, Todd ( Rae Lynne) Shirley, Sheena Shirley, and Nicole (Eric) Pellicano Carey; three great grandchildren, Abbey Shirley, Tae Shirley, and Bella Shirley.
The funeral will be at 1p.m, Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Brother Choe Sergent will officiate. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11-1p.m., Tuesday January 9, 2018 at Stith Funeral Home. Memorial donations are suggested to The American Heart Association or Alzheimer’s Association.

Mary (and Sal) were dear neighbors and special friends in The Villages, FL for about 15 years! I loved them both so much! We had some very special times together, and we did enjoy her Italian cooking!
