Marie Pike Hammons, a beloved mother, passed away on December 12, 2023. Born on April 3, 1941, Marie lived a full and meaningful life, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever be treasured. She is predeceased by her sons Bobby Young, Billy Young, and Dale Preston, her grandson Chris Young, her brothers and sister Carlos Pike, Howard Pike, Donald Pike, LeRoy Pike and Jean Pike. Marie was a dedicated and loving mother to her five children, Wesley, James, Randy, Tena, and Melisa, 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. She poured her heart and soul into raising them, providing them with unwavering love and support throughout their lives. Her children were her pride and joy, and she took immense pleasure in watching them grow. Aside from being a devoted mother, Marie was also a cherished sister to her brothers, Harold Pike and Jesse Pike, and sister, Margaret Ann White. They shared a bond that was unbreakable, rooted in the love and memories they built together throughout their lives. Marie valued family above all else, finding comfort and strength in their presence. Marie\'s warm and compassionate nature touched the lives of all who knew her. She had an ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved, creating a sense of belonging in any gathering. Her kind heart and gentle spirit were evident in her every action, inspiring those around her to live with grace and empathy. Graveside services to honor Marie\'s life will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Chestnut Grove Cemetery. The ceremony will be a celebration of her beautiful life, filled with stories and memories shared by family and friends. Following the service, Marie\'s remains will be laid to rest in a peaceful burial at Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
