Marian Harmon Gibson, 96, died Monday, October 9, 2023. She was born June 17, 1927, in Perryville, Kentucky to the late Clyde and Mary Blanche Harmon. She was the widow of Oscar Gibson and was predeceased by her siblings, Bobby, George Kenneth, Davis, Jack, Don, Edna Frances and Mickey Harmon. Marian was a graduate of Perryville High School and worked in accounting for many years. She was a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. Her many accomplishments include mission trips to Haiti, Morocco, Egypt, Eastern Kentucky, and Mississippi after hurricane Katrina. She volunteered at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church in the nursery, serving on the Stewardship committee, the mission committee, W.O.M. and Soups on Us. She also volunteered for the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center auxiliary and served as the vice treasurer, as well as volunteered at the Hope Clinic, Boyle County Humane Society, Boyle County Library, and Art Center of the Bluegrass. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and playing the dulcimer in Danville where she was also the treasurer.  Marian enjoyed bridge, line dancing and square dancing. She was a docent for the McDowell House in Danville and the Secretary Treasurer for Harmon Gray Pipes.  Her memberships include the Danville Historical Society, Boyle Landmark Trust, Harrodsburg Landmark Trust, Danville Genealogy, Junction City Homemaker and American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to walk and exercise and was part of Silver Sneakers and participated in yoga. She is survived by her sister, Martha Noel Henry of Rogersville, TN; nieces and nephews, Mike Harmon, Davey Harmon, Vicki (Buddy) Harmon Connelly, Peggy Edgington, Wanda (Bill) Sprinkle, Diana (Mike) Gilley, Mike (Jessica) Harmon, Susan Harmon, Bob Lankford, Mary Frances (Michael) Campana, David Henry and June Harmon. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 13, 2023, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Perryville, Kentucky. Rev. Basil Hall will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Art Center of the Bluegrass or the Salvation Army. Graveside service:  11:00 am Friday, October 13, 2023,  Hillcrest Cemetery, Perryville.
