Margie Brumfield,78, passed away on September 27, 2023, in Bryantsville, KY, after a brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones during her illness and at the time of her passing.
Margie was born on November 13, 1944, in Somerset, KY, to Joseph Clark and Beatrice Burton. She graduated from Somerset High School. Margie was the beloved wife of Joe Harvey Brumfield, Jr., for 58 years. They were life-long entrepreneurs who owned and operated The Cherry Place for 31 years, and before that they farmed in Marion and Boyle County, ran a country grocery store, performed land surveys, and bought and sold real estate.
The couple have three children, JoAyne Keltner (Ken), Mark Brumfield (Karen), and Shawn Brumfield Rogers (John). Margie dearly loved and was blessed by her 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Lucille Burton, Lawrence Burton, Howard Burton, Doris Hail, and Deloris Jean Carrender. Her nieces, nephews, and friends all held a special place in her heart.
Margie was a born-again Christian who loved the Lord with every fiber of her being. She had a personal relationship with the Lord and loved to sing hymns of praise to him. Margie dearly loved her friends and was known to play a mean game of Rook.
The service for Margie will be held on Monday, October 2 at Cornerstone Assembly of God, in Danville, KY. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY.
