Lucy Jane Love Adams, 98, died January 1, 2023 in Danville, Kentucky. Lucy was born November 1, 1925, in Danville to the late Carl and Pearl Mae Hines Love. Lucy was a 1943 graduate of Danville High School and earned a degree in Registered Nursing from Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati in 1946. In 1952, she began work at Cincinnati General Anesthesia School for 15 months and went on to work at St. Mary’s hospital. Her work included being a cadet nurse in the U.S. Army Air Force. Lucy moved back to Danville and soon welcomed the birth of her son Carl while continuing her nursing career in Danville. She enjoyed golf and loved to watch it on television.
Lucy is survived by her son, Carl Love Adams and grandson, Sam Adams. She is predeceased by two brothers, Morris Love and Ralph C. Love, as well as two sisters, Zilpha Mae Love and Virginia May Love Tuck.
Pallbearers will be Bill Loran, Jim Cress, Dennis Wheeler, Butch Pass and Frank Kilby. There will be a graveside service at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 20th, at Bellevue Cemetery in Danville. Memorial donations are suggested to the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society.
