Lucille Coyle Smith

Lucille Coyle Smith, 80, died on April 22, 2026. She was born in Marion County on August 28, 1945. Lucille graduated in the last class from Forkland High School in 1963. She enjoyed singing gospel music and reading her Bible. She loved her family beyond measure. Her greatest love of all time was Jesus.

Lucille was predeceased by her parents, William B. and Esther Mae Coyle, two brothers, James Cox and Glenn Overstreet, and one sister, Shirley Cox.

Lucille is survived by her husband, Kenneth Smith, daughters, Beverly (Wendell) Harris and Belinda (Bryan) Karnes, grandchildren, Tyler Karnes, Hanna Karnes, Blake Coffman, Tyler Harris, and Shane (Aleshia) Harris, one great-grandchild, Aurora Karnes, and sisters, Louise Manning and Frances Cox. She is also survived by her special fur baby, Buddy. Just the mention of his name made her eyes brighten and put a beautiful smile on her face.

The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Brad Padgett will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tyler Karnes, Tyler Harris, Howord Cull, Gary Padgett, and Harold Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Harris. Burial will follow in Beechfork Baptist Church Cemetery in Gravel Switch. Visitation will be from 5 pm to 8 pm on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Memorial donations may be made to WDFB Christian Radio.
