Lorene Sims Wilson, 87, also known as “Babaw”, died at home on September 14, 2020. Born March 8, 1933 in Boyle County, she was the daughter of the late Clay and Della Coy Sims. Lorene was a member of Charity Church of God in Hustonville where she was the song director and loved to sing gospel music. She was predeceased by her former husband, Albert Wilson; a step-daughter, Wilda Jean Randolph; two sisters, Ginny Warren and Lyda Pearl Bolin; and three brothers, Clay Sims Jr., Walter Robert Sims, William “Bill” Sims. She is survived by her daughter, Tammie Jolene Parks of Harrodsburg; a son, Terry (Diane) Wilson of Danville; four grandchildren, Myla Parks, Amber Penman, Josh Wilson, and Amanda (Steven) McFadden; seven great-grandchildren, Azariah Ford, Jaiden Pinho, Ariat Buford, Alaylah Young, Armonte Buford, Paige McFadden and Olivia McFadden. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 21st, prior to the service. The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2020 at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Pastor Marvin Hatton will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Josh Wilson, Steve McFadden, Jimmy Whitenack, Brandon Ford, Mareese Buford and Blake Baker. Honorary pallbearers will be Peggy Buford, and Linda Gastineau. Memorial donations are suggested to Charity Church of God in Hustonville.   1. Lorene was a close friend of the family and my neighbor for many years. No one could have asked for a better neighbor, but she\’s in her Heavenly home now. May God bless and keep her.

  3. Terry and Tammy I really hated to hear abt Lorene. She was a super person and always treated me with love. I really dont know what to say to try to ease the pain.   5. Terry and Tammy, I am so sorry to hear about your mother. Her and my mom, Virginia Curtsinger, have been friends for years. They worked over 30 years together at Corning. And, they remained friends after Corning. She was a sweet lady. I would see her in Walmart and talk forever. RIP Lorene.
