Lela Thomas Cummins, 67, died Thursday, July 23, 2020. Born October 5, 1952 in Casey County, Kentucky to the late Vanus Harrison and Sylria Marie Lane Thomas Jr. After having her coffee and cigarette, she would have loved spending her day reading and working in the flowers. She worked in landscaping and loved her grandchildren more than anything. She is predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Glendale Thomas, and Kenneth Bradley Thomas, and sisters, Molly Propes, and Louise Thomas. She is survived by two grandchildren, Shane Carpenter (Talei McCloud), Cheyenne (Brandon) Baselice; a great-grandchild, Salem Baselice; her daughter, Anna Cummins of Junction City, Kentucky; brothers, Gene Thomas of Junction City, Kentucky, Kenneth Thomas of Lexington, Kentucky; sisters, Margaret Gilbert of Junction City, Kentucky, Kay (Estil) Sims of Danville, Kentucky, Sharon Snow of Moreland, Kentucky, and Linda Hillard of Junction City, Kentucky. Visitation will be held after 5 p.m., Thursday, July 30, 2020, Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Burial will be 1 p.m., Friday, July 31, 2020 at Fair Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jenny Gibson, Dwayne Gibson, William Sleet, John Carrier, Lawrence Emerson, Kathy Emerson, and Rocky Arnold.   2. What a wonderful person. She touched many people throughout her life. Thru good times and bad, she was a rock. Rest in peace.

  3. Lela Mae has been my friend sense I was a child. I loved setting and talking to Lela and listening to her talk about her life. Anyone that knew her knows she worked hard her whole life and would help anyone in need. I could write all day and still not finish talking about this Awsome lady. Rest in peace Lela you deserve eternal rest. Prayers to her whole family and all of her dear friends.

  4. I’ve known Lela my whole life and have much respect for her ! So many words could be spoken about Lela she was strong for her family and friends from such a young age and all of her days to the end . She was their rock , she will be missed by many . May you find your resting peace .
