Lavone Hope Anderson Evans, 100, of Danville, died January 4, 2017. Born December 23, 1916, she was the daughter of Olé Anderson and Gladys LaFerne Jones Anderson Wetzig. She worked for Genesco and American Greetings and was a member of Indian Hills Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Herbert Evans, and two brothers, Arlo Anderson and Clayton Anderson.
Survivors include her son, James \"Jimmie\" Herbert Evans Jr. of Bradsfordville, five daughters, Bonnie Turpin of Danville, Patricia Hoss of Kuttawa, Kathy Cochran of Junction City, Judith Hays of Clemmons, NC and Meredith Glass of Knox, Indiana, thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Rev. Odis Clark will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Donations are suggested to Indian Hills Christian Church.
