Kellen Boone Hamilton, 28, passed away on September 4, 2024. She was a beloved daughter and friend, who was born on October 21, 1995, in Louisville, Kentucky. Kellen’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She is predeceased by her grandparents, great-aunt, and aunt.

Kellen will be deeply missed by her mother, Mykol Hamilton, Professor Emerita of Psychology at Centre College, and all who knew her for her beautiful smile and gentle, caring heart.   Kellen was known for her charm, charisma, and kindness. Years ago, Kellen chose to become a registered organ donor.  Thus, part of her lasting legacy is the gift of life to three individuals who live on because of her generosity.

Kellen derived joy from being surrounded by the dogs and cats she loved. Her travels to Mexico, Norway, and annually to California were favorite memories.  She loved music, cars, and especially spending time with close friends.  The unbreakable bond between Kellen and her mother was a love that brought endless richness and beauty to their lives in the best and worst of times.  Kellen was passionate about racial justice, women’s rights, and restorative justice as an alternative to mass incarceration. Donations in Kellen’s memory may be directed to KODA, Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates https://www.donatelifeky.org/giveback/or Lexington Pit Crew dog rescue (https://www.lexpitcrew.org).
