Kathleen Stafford Coffman
June 17, 1930 ~ June 30, 2018
Kathleen Stafford Coffman “Granny” died on Friday, June 29, 2018. She was born in Marion County on June 17, 1930 to the late Everett and Lillie Rouse Stafford. She graduated from Liberty High school in 1948. Kathleen married Jesse Vernon Coffman on December 24, 1949. Kathleen worked at Mercer Dress in Burgin for many years as well as Capps Uniform, Where she made band uniforms, flags and rifles for high school bands. She and her husband loved to camp. They took trips with the family to the Smoky Mountains, and Florida each year, until her husband started having heart trouble. She enjoyed being outside in her yard or relaxing under a shade tree. She loved being around people and always put a smile on their faces. Her laugh will be missed. She was a member of Junction City united Methodist Church. She retired from Watsons Department Store after her husband passed away (Jan. 14, 1992) so she could help raise her grandson who was born five weeks later. She loved her grandson very much as well as his half-sister, Morgan Naylor like she was her own grandchild.
She is survived by a daughter, Jessie Lynn Naylor; three sisters, Bonnie (Mike) Land of Lexington, KY, Amanda (the late Carl) Bertram of Chaplin, KY, Violet (Emmett) Calvert of Lexington, KY; two brothers, Everett (Evonna) Stafford of Danville, KY, Lonnie Stafford of Lexington, KY and one grandchild, Jesse Scott Naylor.
