Kara Finley Chasteen, a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, niece, and friend. She was born on October 29, 1988, in Danville, KY, and tragically passed away on May 19, 2024, at the age of 35.

Kara will forever be remembered for her infectious smile, her love for her dogs Michi & Izzy, and her selfless and kind nature. She dedicated herself to supporting breast cancer awareness and was a passionate advocate for the cause. Her family meant the world to her, and she cherished her role as an amazing aunt, especially to her nieces and nephews whom she adored. Kara shared a special bond with Elliot “Kiddo” and Eiylah “Baby Kiddo,” creating unforgettable memories with all of her nieces and nephews.

Kara was a dedicated mental health technician, and she poured her heart into caring for children. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, selflessness, and unwavering support. Kara was preceded in death by her grandmother Annette Roberson and aunt MaryAnn Moore.

She will be deeply missed by her mother Michelle Finley, father Mickey Chasteen, siblings Hailey Glasscock, Hunter (Dez) Glasscock, Kylie Chasteen, and Kaylah (Jeff) Johnson, her grandparents Denzil and Betty Finley, Janice Burdette and Steve Chasteen, her aunts Brittany (Matt) Finley-Richards, Bridget Finley, and Brandi (Jake) Finley, uncles Alan (Kristie) Finley, Rodney Finley, Nelson (Tabitha) Finley, and Jason Chasteen, her nieces and nephews Elliot Muse, Eiylah Jaye Glasscock, Hadlee Glasscock, MaKennah Johnson, Landon Johnson, Stori Johnson, and Seirrah LoRe and numerous beloved cousins and friends who meant the world to her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 pm, Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City with a Time of Remembrance at 6 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City with Rev. Jeffrey Finley officiating. Burial will be in Chasteen Cemetery, Berea, Kentucky

As we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate the beautiful soul that she was and cherish the memories that will forever remain in our hearts. Kara’s spirit will continue to live on in the lives she touched, and her legacy will inspire us all to be a little kinder, a little more loving, and a little more compassionate.
