Joyce Lynn Garey, 62, passed away on April 29, 2024, at her residence in Danville, KY. She was born on April 12, 1961, to James “Jim” and Ellen Garey in Richmond, Virginia. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother John William Garey, and her sister Margorie Maloney.

Joyce a beloved wife, mother, sister, and cherished friend, will be remembered for her contagious smile, her love for spending time with family, her strong will, and her great joy for the outdoors. She shared many precious moments with her family and friends.

She is survived by her wife Carol Gaddis, her daughters Crystal (Eddy) Gardner, and Jessica Hafley, her grandchildren Gabriel Marcus Sheron, Jordan Keith Strevels, Morgan Lynn Strevels, and Isaiah Ray Hogue, her siblings James Herbert (Sandy) Garey of Meigs, Ohio, Patricia (Jesse) Griffin, and Narda Garey both of Danville.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Joyce Garey’s presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
