Joyce Lee Kidd, 90, of Junction City passed away on August 24, 2024. Joyce was born on October 30, 1933, in Atoka, to the late James and Flossie Thomas Cross. Throughout her life, Joyce remained devout in her faith, finding solace and strength in her beliefs. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, his husband William C. Kidd, her sister June McQueary, and son-in-law Joey Curtsinger. She was a devoted secretary at Northpoint Training Center until her retirement.

Joyce was a passionate woman who cherished her family above all else. She adored her German Shepherds, found peace in her garden, and delighted in the art of crocheting. Her love for travel allowed her to explore the US, creating lasting memories near and far.

She is the beloved mother to Rita (Kelvin) Gorley, Vicki (Mike) Vernon, Kathy (Taylor)  Shelton, and Kristi Curtsinger, she adored her grandchildren Brad Vernon, Alex (Cassie) Gorley, Clint (Tiffany) Ratliff, Paige Ratliff, Adrienne (John Paul) Bodner, Kaela (Patrick) Bennett, Keri (John) Kidd, C. J. Curtsinger, and Matthew (Samantha) Vernon, her great-grandchildren Will Vernon, Sophie Vernon, Brady Vernon, Daxon Gorley, Zane Goode, Zach Ratliff, Gavin Ratliff, Easton Ratliff, Tatum Ratliff, Madison Teague, Landon Vernon, Paisley Vernon, River Watkins, Arabella Bennett, Harper Bennett, Blakely Bodner, Beckett Bodner, Braxton Bodner, Bryson Bodner, her Brother-in-Law Albert McQueary, and a special cousin Judson Cross.

The visitation will be 4-6 p.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City with Donald Mudge speaking. Burial will be with her husband in Bellevue Cemetery.

  5. Tons of memories come flooding back from my days spent with Rita, Vicki & Kathy at Joyce’s and Mama & Papa Cross’ home. Running back & forth in the field between their homes & playing “dress up” in Mama Cross’ back bedroom. It was a great time to grow up! Love to all the girls and their families. Joyce was a true sweetheart and will be missed by all who knew her. Sending hugs!
