Gerald “Jerry” Boyd, 90, died peacefully on June 18, 2024, with his wife by his side. He was born on March 1, 1934, in Uniontown, PA, to the late Kenneth and Eleanor Boyd. Jerry Boyd was a proud US Army veteran who served his country with honor, reaching the rank of Captain. His commitment to education led him to a successful career as a School Administrator, shaping the minds of countless students and colleagues.
Jerry’s passion for volunteering started with the Constitution Square Festival and many years supporting the Great American Brass Band Festival. His years of coaching left a lasting impact on those around him, inspiring many to strive for excellence and kindness. He will be remembered for his dedication, integrity, and unwavering support for his community.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Jane Scarborough Boyd, daughter Lisa Boyd, and son Chris Boyd, his stepchildren Blake (Diane) Scarborough, and Susan Scarborough (George) Rose, and grandson Connor Rose a beloved husband, father, and dedicated School Administrator who touched the lives of many throughout his lifetime.
The funeral service will be at 4 p.m., Monday, June 24, 2024, at the First Christian Church with Rev. Colby Smith officiating. Prior to the service, a Visitation will be from 1 – 4 p.m. at First Christian Church.
Memorial donations are suggested to First Christian Church, Heritage Hospice, or the Charity of your Choice.

We are so saddened to hear of JB’s passing. He will be remembered for his love of his family, community and life. Our hearts go out to his loving wife Jane, his children and all who knew and loved him. Fly high Jerry. Hope you are enjoying a cigar in heaven.

I loved this man in high school! He suspended me for bad behavior that I truly deserved and felt so bad for me! He was the very best Staff Member at DHS💙 Rest in peace Mr. Boyd, I’m glad it wasn’t me that sent you to Heaven before your time🙏

He was LOVED By All at DHS and was ALWAYS Available To Talk With ANY of us if we needed to talk…one time I remember we were talking at Lunchtime and I passed out, next thing I know He was picking me up and Carrying Me out to my Mom’s car:)
