Jean Brown Donovan, 97, of Danville, KY died July 5, 2020 at Stanford Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was born February 16, 1923 in Lebanon, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Clever & Clyde Brown.
Jean was a member of the Lexington Avenue Baptist Church in Danville. She and her late husband Bob owned and operated their own grocery store in Cynthiana, Kentucky for many years.
Survivors include: two sons, Bob (Linda) Donovan of Maysville, and Bill Donovan of Charleston, South Carolina. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Stephanie Donovan, Mary Beth Donovan, Derek Donovan, Scott Donovan, and Susan (Myles) Bland.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Robert M. Donovan, Sr. and daughter-in-law Bobbye Donovan. She was also preceded in death by three brothers Bill Brown of Cynthiana, Harold “Sug” Brown and Vernon Brown of Lebanon, KY and one sister, Sue Wilson of Lebanon, KY.
She enjoyed volunteering for McDowell Hospital Auxiliary and playing Bridge with her friends. She loved cooking and playing cards with her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at donate.lls.org. A memorial service will be held on a later date.
