March 29, 1959 ~ September 5, 2026

Jan Aumiller, 67, passed away on September 5th at Hickory Hill Farm in Danville, Kentucky.

Born on March 29, 1959, in Glendale, California, Jan was the daughter of Penny and Jake Fogg. Boyle County had been home to Jan for more than 35 years, and it was there that she spent her working life as a nurse and built a life deeply rooted in family, generosity, and love.

Jan was the beloved wife of Dr. John Aumiller. Their home was never quiet and never empty; family, friends, and a steady procession of animals were always welcome. She cooked for anyone who walked through the door, and no holiday was complete without her heavenly potatoes. She quilted, loved on her pets, and had a sense of humor that filled a room. Above all, she was a devoted mother and a mother figure to many more.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jake Fogg, and her son, Jake Rostker.

Jan is survived by her husband, Dr. John Aumiller; her children, Corey Aumiller and his wife, Allison; Lindsey Rupert and her husband, Eric; Jordan Aumiller and his wife, Megan; Grant Aumiller and his wife, Rachel; and Maddy Mitchell and her husband, Kevin. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Laurel Rupert, Sydney Rupert, J.R. Aumiller, Sam Aumiller, Jett Aumiller, Silas Aumiller and Shepherd Aumiller; her mother, Penny Fogg; her sister, Patty Bokhoven and her husband Howard; and many other family members and friends who loved her dearly.

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm on Thursday, OCtober 29, 2026, at Indian Hills Christian Church.  A time of sharing will follow at 6:30 PM.

Jan believed deeply in giving back to her community. In her honor, the Aumiller family has created the Jan Aumiller Charitable Fund in her name so her generosity can continue to support the nonprofits and causes she cared about across Boyle County. Gifts made in her name are a meaningful way to help her legacy live on.

If you would like to honor Jan’s memory with a gift, donations may be made to the Jan Aumiller Charitable Fund.  Please makes checks payable to Edward Jones with Jan Aumiller Charitable Fund on the memo line.

  12. I was saddened to know that Jan has passed on. To be absent in the body is to be with the Lord. She’s no longer in pain.

  13. Jan was my father in laws health nurse. She could here to my house to see him.He thought alot of her.He was in his 90’s.
Dr Aumiller was my cardiologist. I trusted him in his decision making.
    Prayers for the family.

  14. Cathy Ortiz (Hartwick), My folks were friend with Jake and Penney. That’s how I knew Jan and & her sister Patty. Every time I was around Jan, I’ve always known her to work super hard at what she was going after. I haven’t really followed her much through the years. But I know she has a huge family with her husband. She also looked at my jewelry making pieces I had on fb. It was a shock that I happened to find out about her passing. I could sense something was off. As I hadn’t seen in name in a long time. Wished I could have been around her vibe more. I didn’t know her from her Montana days. But rather La Crescenta days. I just feel bad. A loss like this is immeasurable to family members. Thinking of you Patty and Penny. And respect to her husband whom I’ve never met. With respect and compassion. Cathy.

  15. Walking with her at 0-dark-thirty for 12 years, I got to really know who she was. She was energetic, funny, smart, out-loud with a heart of gold. The best cook ever, she shared her gift with so many and ALWAYS put that extra sprig of something on there or in there to make it the best. We had so many laughs and when she needed to vent, NOBODY could keep up with her “mad pace”. She loved her family more than anyone I know and appreciated those that loved on them and helped them get to adulthood. What a beautiful soul. Nobody had more pain and medical hardships than Aumiller but what a warrior!! She loved on people even in her “pit”! I am most grateful for her decision to invite Christ into her life and trust His promise because I will see her beautiful face again! Much love to all the Aumiller family.
