James "Tommy" Minor

James Thomas “Tommy” Minor, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025, at the age of 74. He was born on August 21, 1950, in Danville, Kentucky, to the late Thomas Jesse and Amanda Wilmoth “Bill” Minor, where he spent his life creating cherished memories with family and friends. He was a 1969 graduate of Danville High School. Tommy was retired from HB Masonry in Berea where he was a foreman.
Tommy was known for his vibrant spirit and his love for Nascar and dirt track races, where the thrill of speed and competition brought him joy. However, his greatest passion lay in the heart of his family. Tommy cherished cookouts spent in the company of his children and grandchildren, delighting in the sounds of laughter and conversation that filled the air. These moments were the highlight of his life, a true testament to his loving nature and commitment to family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Dixie Mahan Minor, his sons; David Thomas Minor, James Christopher (Amber) Minor, his grandchildren Carter Gage Minor and Avery Grace Minor and his sister Barbara (Dan) Finfrock. Together, they created a home filled with love and warmth, a legacy that will continue through their children and grandchildren.
The visitation will be 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2025 at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2025 also at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City with Rev. Barry Harmon officiating. Pallbearers will be David Minor, Chris Minor, Carter Minor, Avery Minor, Ian Young, Mike Townsend, and Lige Turpin.
Memorial donations are suggested to Heritage Hospice.
