James \"Thomas\" Wilburn

James Thomas Wilburn, 85, died on July 21, 2022.  Tom was born in Mitchellsburg on August 6, 1936, to the late William and Eller Wilburn.  He was a member of Pleasant Run Baptist Church which he loved.  Tom loved his wives and family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his great-great-grandchildren.  Tom and Jerry Sinkhorn founded Peckerwood Grocery in Knothole, Kentucky.  Tom was the owner of James Wilburn Concrete for 65 years.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Helen and a son, Jerry Allen Wilburn. Tom is survived by his wife, Edith Ross Wilburn; sons, James “PeeWee” (Margaret) Wilburn, Bill Wilburn, Bobby Wilburn and Marty (Charllote) Wilburn; a daughter, Vonda Lee Vonlinger; step-daughter, Diedre Johnson; sister, Opal (Buford) Neikirk; grandchildren, Amy Cox, Nicholas Wilburn, Shanna High, Holly Lynn, Josh Wilburn, Tristen Wilburn, Luke Wilburn, Tori Wilburn, Megan Vonlinger, Zack Wilburn, Kayla Wilburn, Devin Wilburn, Abi Wilburn, and Whitney Wilburn, 29 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 1pm at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City.  Rev. JR Fields will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Zack Wilburn, Nicholas Wilburn, Josh Wilburn, Luke Wilburn, Devin Wilburn, and Hagan Wilburn.  Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022, from 4-6pm at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City.  Memorial donations may be made to Pleasant Run Baptist Church.  The online guestbook and Hugs from Home program are available at www.stithcares.com.
