Jack Hinkle, 83, died January 16, 2017. Born February 17, 1933, he was the son of Tom and Bessie Mabel Cook Hinkle. He was the widower of Thelma Johnson Hinkle. He was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church in Independence, Ky and loved his church, yard work and making sure the wood was in. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Survivors include two daughters, Marcia (Danny) Driskell and Lisa (Jerry) Sowders, both of Independence, a son, Mark Hinkle of Hebron, seven grandchildren; Jake (Kaylyn) Hinkle, Travis Hinkle, Justin Zornes, Danny Lee Driskell II, Amy (Matt) Snow, Sarah Clark, Jerry Sanders, and two great-grandchildren Trinity Zornes and Gideon Hinkle.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Rev. Brent Rowe will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
