Gary David Pleasants, 74, died Friday, February 18, 2022. He was born in Danville on September 10, 1947, to the late Joseph David and Elizabeth Mae Faulkner Pleasants. Gary was a graduate of Pendleton County High School. He was a former employee of Certified Brakes and Matsushita-Panasonic. Gary owned and operated an RV Repair business known as “Gary’s Place”. He was a loving family man and absolutely adored his grandchildren. Gary enjoyed fishing, camping, going to the 127-yard sales and tinkering in his building. He is survived by his son, William David Pleasants (Penny) of Junction City; three sisters, Donna Lane, Mary Jo Wood (Bill), Cindy Powell; two grandchildren, Summer Olivia Gale Pleasants, and Gavin Delbert Lee Pleasants; niece, Shannon Logan; nephew, Ashley Powell, Matt Wood (Brittany), Steven Wood (Tracy) and several great nieces and nephews and friends. The funeral service will be 1pm, Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City. Rev. Andy Turner will officiate. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Penny Pleasants, Ashley Powell, Shannon Logan, Matt Wood, Steven Wood and Ryan Powell. Honorary pallbearers, Larry Cox, C.J. Lane, Bill Wood, Danny Lynn, and his Hilltop Gang Family. Visitation will be 5pm – 7pm, Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City.   1. So very sorry for your loss. I remember Gary from Crab Orchard Elementary. I was in his sister Donna\’s 4th grade class in 1958. Their father Joe was one of my father\’s very best friends.

  6. Jimmy Lee and I were very fortunate to stay with Gary David during our trip to Kentucky a few years ago! He was the best host and tour guide and we enjoyed every minute visiting with him and his family! We will miss him!
