Edna Ellen Houck Griffieth, 91, died May 17, 2020 in Stanford, Kentucky. Born January 3, 1929 in Lincoln County to the late George Washington Houck and Ilar Bell Copeland. She was a member at Buena Vista Baptist Church. Edna was a quilter, gardener of beautiful flowers, raised basset hounds, sang bluegrass gospel music. She loved to travel, cook, and have the family over for dinner. Edna wrote poetry and had one of her poems published in a book. She also loved her dogs Brandy, Ricky, and Lucy very much. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased her sons; Darrell Routin and Harold Taylor; a daughter, Joyce Mullins; her brothers; Matthew Houck, Dewey Houck, Edward Houck, and George Houck II; sisters, Dora Stoffell, Etta Taylor, Velma Phipps, Beulah Raikes and Erdell Houck. She is survived by two daughters, Gleah (Randy) Willoughby of Nicholasville, Mary Jo (Whitey) Young of Frankfort; her sons; Jerry (Nell) Houck of Junction City, Kevin Routin of Garrard County, George Routin of Danville, Glen Taylor of Danville, James E. (Sue) Routin of Moreland, Robert Taylor of Danville; eleven grandchildren, Jeannie (Tommy) Scott, Jerry Houck, Mary Ruby Routin, Karen Routin, Teresa Routin, Kevin Lee Routin Jr., J.E. Jr. Routin, Jason Routin, Steve Willoughby, Brent Willoughby and Kaden Routin; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a special friend, Ruby Sparks. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday May 21, 2020 at Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Lincoln County. Randy Douglas and Jeff Sparks will officiate. Memorial donations are suggested to Olive Baptist Church Cemetery . The family would like to extend a special thank you to Stanford Care and Rehabilitation Center for all the love and support they showed to Mrs. Edna.
