Dorothy Page Weddle, “Mooma”, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, after a courageous battle with renal cancer. Page was born on March 20, 1939, in Frankfort, Kentucky to the late Carl and Helen Weddle. After graduating from Eastern Kentucky University, Page worked as an office administrator and a bookkeeper. Page was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandma, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was a wonderful baker, a hard worker, a woman of faith, and a devoted UK basketball and football fan. Throughout the years, Page has given her time to local civic organizations, school fundraisers and volunteered at the Episcopal Church. She loved watching her kids play sports which turned into a passion for championing her grandkids in all athletic endeavors. She will forever be remembered as “the best fan in the stands.” In addition to her parents, Page was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law Rev. Dr. Karl and Nila Weddle and her cousin Robert F. Brandt III.
Page is survived by her daughter Ashby (Bryan) Jakober, sons, Derek (Heather) Anderson and BW (Rachel) Brooks, grandchildren, Tristian Redmond, Ethan Redmond, Benson Jakober, Kennedy Brooks, Rian Brooks, Beckham Brooks, Harlow Brooks, and Declan Anderson; cousin, Ann Brandt; nieces are the Families of Becky Blankenbeckler, Casey Collins, and Page Helton.
Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center or the Commonwealth Cancer Center in Danville. An online guestbook is available at www.stithcares.com.
