Diane Marie Monteith, 60, died on June 8, 2024.  She was born on November 11, 1963, in Wayne, Michigan, to Irene and the late David Richard Sinnott.  Diane worked for over 20 years at Walmart and was the best biscuit maker at Hardee’s.  She loved yard work and gardening, especially anything with purple flowers.  She also loved to sew.  Diane was always on the go.  She was a little ditzy hence the nickname “Kelly” after Kelly Bundy from Married With Children.  Diane was known to “crop dust.”  She loved her grandchildren and her dog Dallas.  In addition to her father, Diane was predeceased by a granddaughter Melanie.

Diane is survived by her husband Mitchell, daughters, Tamara Hogue and Lisa Sexton (Ryan Bright), sons, Terry Monteith and Timothy Monteith (Connie), grandchildren: Brennin Monteith, Leo Monteith, Cassiopeia Monteith, Isabella Monteith, Mia Hogue, Jackson Hogue, Rowan Hogue, Sophia Hogue, Adam Monteith, David Monteith, Xavier Edelen, Damien Edelen, Jeriah Bright, Roxanne Bright, and Samuel Bright, sisters; Debbie Barbuzinski, Denise Schultz, Susan Turner (Chuck), Cindy Mares (Robert), Tina Cates (Donald), Kitty Smallwood, Irene Roberson, Jenny Palmer (Andy) and Tammy Miller (Chris), brothers: David Sinnott, Jeff Sinnott, Michael Sinnott (Mary), and Tom Sinnott (Leslie).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 pm on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Danville.  The Celebrant will be Father Danny Schwendemen.  The pallbearers will be Terry Monteith, Timothy Monteith, Matthew Hogue, Ryan Bright, Xavier Edelen, Ion Severance, Drake Hardin, and Bobby Smallwood.  Visitation will be from 5 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Commonwealth Cancer Center or The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

  1. We are so sorry to hear of Diane’s passing. She was an amazingly strong woman who fought to keep going for her beloved family. May God wrap his arms around all of them to comfort them after her loss.

  2. I’m so sorry to hear about Diane’s passing. She was a funny lady when I would see her at Walmart she always made me laugh when I needed one. She always talked about her kids and was proud of all of them and her grandkids. I send all of them my prayers.
