Denise Padgett Wade, 62, of Perryville, died suddenly on January 20, 2025. Born on January 12, 1963, in Danville, Kentucky, Denise was a dedicated member of her community and a beloved wife, mother, and friend.
Denise graduated from Lincoln County High School, Class of 1981, and the Kentucky College of Business in 1984, where she earned her associate’s degree. She devoted her professional life to the people of Boyle County through her career as an administrative assistant in the Danville-Boyle County Planning and Zoning office.
Denise was a passionate volunteer, actively supporting the Danville Band, downtown Danville, and her Mayo Christian Church community. Her dedication to service and her generous spirit were recognized when she was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award, also known as the Big Heart Award from the Heart of Danville.
Denise is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, James D. Wade; her cherished son, Nicholas “Nick” (Cody Polston) Wade; her sister Rose Durham, nieces and nephews Krystal Durham, Branden Durham, Elexis Durham, Grayson Durham and Trenton Durham. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and her many friends and colleagues.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, January 27, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville, with Rev Robert Hutcherson officiating. The visitation will take place from 3 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2025, also at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Pallbearers will be Branden Durham, Rick McDonald, Berek Bodner, Shane Peck, and Riley Bodner. Honorary pallbearer will be Mark Todd. The burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Danville-Boyle County Humane Society.
