Delbert Reynolds Walters, 94, died December 11, 2021, in Danville, Kentucky. Born May 11, 1927, in Mercer County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Lettie Louticia Sutton Walters. Delbert served in the United States Marines and worked as a licensed electrician and worked for thirty-five years at Southern Bell and South Central Bell. He was raised Baptist and was a member of the Telephone Pioneer Club and former member of the Optimist Club. Delbert loved his family and was an enthusiastic gardener who supplied his neighbors with tomatoes and was an avid fisherman. He is predeceased by a grandson, James William Gram; and brothers and sisters, Bert Walters, Flora Ransdell, Ella McMurry, Clyde Walters, Ida Mae Durr, Elmer Walters, Lloyd Walters, Ada Allender, Charles Walters, and W.H. Walters.
Delbert is survived by his wife, Bettie Walters; three daughters, Sue Ann Walters (Richard F. Clarke), Mary Lou (William Clarence) Gram, Jackie Rose Walters (Todd Gregory Williams); grandchildren, Jennifer Alcala (Pablo), Dee Walters Gram (Roxanne Dian), Elizabeth Dee Williams (Austin Ayotte), and Jonathan Todd Williams; and one great-grandchild, Claire Katherine Alcala.
Visitation will be 11 am to 12 pm, Monday, December 20, 2021, at the Chapel at Centenary United Methodist Church, Danville, Kentucky. Funeral service will be 12 pm, Monday, December 20, 2021. Rev. Kenny Speakes will officiate. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to the Millennium Park Planting Fund, 1000 Cunningham Drive, Danville, Kentucky 40422.
