Charles Lee Montgomery

Charles Lee Montgomery, 97, died January 30, 2021 at his residence in Danville. He was born October 7, 1923 in Danville, the son of the late Herbert Lee Montgomery and Ruth May Montgomery. Charles was a United States Army Veteran who served as Staff Sergeant during World War II. He worked at Vogue Rattan Manufacturing in Lexington for many years. Charles was a UK Wildcat fan who enjoyed visiting his family, hunting and fishing, and taking rides down the backroads. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife Iberta B. Montgomery; his sisters Anna Frances Montgomery Leathers, Flossie Cheatham, and Mildred Davis; his brothers R.C. Montgomery, G.T. Montgomery, Eugene Montgomery and Edward Montgomery.
He is survived by his brother Donnie (Jean) Montgomery; his favorite niece and caretaker Patricia (Tim) Gulley; several nieces and nephews; and a great nephew Lee Gulley, who he loved like a grandson.
Public visitation will be held from 11 - 1 pm, Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home, in Danville. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm and will be livestreamed on Stith Funeral Home\'s facebook page. Rev Brad King will officiate. He will be buried in Danville Memorial Gardens. Uncle Charles was a wonderful man he loved Lee so much them two was so funny together he love my sis pat she took good care of him billy his nephew who passed loved him also alot now he is in heaven with his wife and love ones he will be missed luv u uncle Charles we will see u again
