Carolyn Sue Smock, 74, of Danville, died on November 11, 2022. Sue was born on November 25, 1947, to the late Frank and Lula Wright. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. Sue enjoyed going to yard sales, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, talking on the phone, and worrying about the weather. Sue loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. With Sue, “you always knew where you stood.” In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ed Smock, sisters; Louise Conaster, Ruth Ann Hundley, and Belle Mattingly.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry Gammon Jr. (Tammy) and Troy Gammon (Tereasa); her sister, Mary Burger (Robert); her grandchildren, Tyler Gammon, Tiffany Tackett (Chris), Amber Gammon (Larry Westerfield), Micah Gammon (Shelby), Astralla Gammon, Riley McQueary, Dalton Finney (Sabrina), and Daylin Finney; and five great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City. Barry Harmon will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tim Curstinger, Tony Hughes, Cecil Burger, Chris Tackett, Kenny Rothwell, and Gary Rothwell. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.
