Carolyn Carey Claunch, 68, of Junction City, passed from this life Monday, September 13, 2021. Born November 21, 1952, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Estes and Wilma Lee Wilcher Carey and the granddaughter of the late Oscar and Carrie Jones Wilcher. Carolyn was a retired nursing assistant for Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed taking care of others and working with her church. Carolyn loved her family and friends. She enjoyed going out to eat with her friends at Wanda’s Kountry Kitchen and having family gatherings. Carolyn was a good Christian woman with a big heart. She was a Kentucky Colonel and lifetime member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. In addition to her parents and grandparents, she is predeceased by her husbands, Earl Claunch and Charles Marlow; her beloved nephews, Kyle and Kody Thacker and David Brown. She is survived by her brother, Kenneth Lee Carey and his wife Diana of Lexington; two sisters, Wilma Sharlene Carey Brown and her husband Jessie Frazier of Hustonville, Loretta Thacker Kleckner and her husband Bill of Somerset; a stepdaughter, Leona Berg and her husband Ed of Harrodsburg; nephews, Keith Thacker, Mark Brown, Joshua Carey, Chris Carey; nieces, Kathy Brown Ricker, Melissa Carey David and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be 11a.m. to 1p.m., Thursday, September 16, 2021, prior to the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Rev. Lewis Walter will officiate. Burial will follow in Junction City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Keith Thacker, Mark Brown, Chris Carey, Bill Kleckner, Cody David and Lige Turpin.
