Carl Gene Harmon, 64, died June 30, 2022. He was born in Danville on January 25, 1958, son of the late Carl T. Harmon and Peggy Harmon, and the late Ada Jean Lane Harmon. Carl was a 1976 graduate of Boyle County High School and a member of Junction City First Baptist Church. He worked as a Class 2 Water Distribution operator for the City of Danville and became the Director of Public Works for the City of Junction City. Carl was a doer of all things. He had a true servant\'s heart, and his work was his hobby. He loved solving problems for anyone in need and made an impact on many lives. In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by his brother, Johnny Hurst, surviving wife Mary Hurst. He is survived by his wife, Rita Johnson Harmon; a daughter, Camille Gabrielle Harmon of Danville; a son, William Paul Harmon of Kailua, HI; bonus daughter Anetha Caldwell of Waynesburg; two bonus grandchildren, Carlee Caldwell and Gracee Caldwell; 2 bonus great-grandchildren, three sisters, Johanna (Warnie) King, Pattie (Dwight) Coontz, and Kathy (Bryan) Carmen; three brothers, Byford (Sherri) Hurst, Tommy Harmon, and Jeff (Penny) Hurst; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, George and Ann Johnson. He had 14 nieces and nephews and numerous cousins that he loved dearly. The funeral service will be 11 am, Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Junction City First Baptist. Rev. Choe Sargent will officiate. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. The pallbearers will be Kenly Smallwood, Tony Griffin, Reginald \"Shorty\" Harris, James McClure, Todd Conger, and Brian Jones. Visitation will be 4 pm to 7 pm, Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Junction City First Baptist Church, with a Masonic service at 6 pm presented by Franklin Lodge #28. Memorial donations are suggested to Sunrise Children\'s Services.   1. Sorry for the family loss, I enjoyed knowing and growing up with Carl , always enjoyed running into him and his family. Prayers for his family during this difficult time, may God give you comfort.

  2. I knew Carl well while I was at Danville Memorial Office. He helped us lot especially when there was trouble in digging difficult graves . He made us laugh a lot of times. He had a good outlook on life. He knew everybody. He will be missed. I thank him for having the privelige of knowing him.

  3. So sorry for the family to see this member depart. He was so helpful to all with a wealth of information on many subjects. Rita and Kathy was so good at trying to pull him through this terrible nightmare with many highs and lows. Will always remember, appreciate and love their effort and will miss Carl’s gift for gab and his ability to tell a story like no one else.
