Arvis “Butch” Richardson Spears, 68, died December 5, 2020. He was born July 31, 1952 in Danville, son of the late Arvil Lee and Avelene Godbey Spears. Butch attended Junction City Schools and graduated from Boyle County High School in 1970. He worked for Matsushita, Montaplast, and retired from Amcor in Nicholasville as a shift technician. He was a member of Mt. Freeman Baptist Church. Butch loved to go fishing, camping, and old cars including restoring a dark blue 1940 Chevy. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Rhonda Greer Spears; two sons, Jason Lee (Telisha) Spears of Harrodsburg and Steven Todd (Ashley) Spears of Perryville; two grandchildren, Ashley Leanne Spears and Emily Michele Spears; two sisters, Anna Carolyn (Bob) Broce of Leesburg, FL and Alice Rebecca (Paul) Smith of Deltona, FL; eight nephews and thirteen nieces; and a beloved dog, Chester. In accordance with the current pandemic regulations there will be a private family only service. Rev. John Kesel will officiate. Pallbearers will be Richard Greer Jr, Jeff Hacker, Don Harris, David Oaks, David Pleasants, and Shaun Charlton. Honorary pallbearers will be Ashley Spears, Emily Spears, Mike Belcher Jr, Daphne Belcher, Regina Ward, Kimberly Goodlet, Kelly Neikirk, Jenny Smith, Lisa Eskridge, Melissa Gross, Lisa Hill, Jackie Greer, Tony DeBoard, and Braylyn Greer.   6. I will always remember Butch as a friend and coworker. We were on different shifts but whenever we met we would always greet each other. Positive attitude was in his nature. Prayers for his family.
