Brenda Montgomery

Brenda Joyce Montgomery, 70, died October 22, 2023, in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. She was born November 28, 1952, to the late Oscar S. and Hazel F. Montgomery in Parksville, Kentucky. Brenda grew up in the Mitchellsburg and Parksville areas and has lived in Boyle County her entire life.  Brenda was a 1971 graduate from Boyle County High School. She later obtained employment at K-Mart where she was a former clerk, and customer service manager and also worked as a private sitter. She was a strong supporter of local veterans’ organizations and demonstrated her support by being a life member of the American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. For Her efforts with veterans, she was awarded Kentucky Colonel Status, by two different Governors of Kentucky. Brenda is survived by her daughter, Laura LeClair (Walter III), grandson, Timothy (Bethany) Matherly; brother, Morris Jeffery (Pamela) Montgomery; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Preceding Brenda in death were her parents; grandson, George F.S. “Sammy” Matherly; brother, Jerry W. Montgomery; and sister, Alta Pearl (Billy) Waters. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Timothy Matherly, Curtis M. Bright, James Murphy and Lee Montgomery, Billy Waters, Sammy Lee, Junior Lee, Stephon Wilkinson and Don Taylor.
