Bobbie Lee Yates, 88 passed away on December 2, 2024. Born on March 10, 1936, in Danville, KY, to the late Robert and Margaret Nevius Carter. She is predeceased by her beloved husband James Lee Yates, her brother James Carter, and her parents.
Bobbie was a scheduler at Corning Glass throughout her career, where her organizational skills and dedication were greatly appreciated. Beyond her professional life, she was an active member of Salt River Baptist Church, where she found joy and fellowship with her church family. Bobbie taught Sunday school for fifty-plus years, she knew her Bible inside out and loved to tell people about Jesus. She will be remembered for the legacy of faith she left with her family, they never had a doubt where she stood.
She loved her family and supported them in their endeavors, especially loved watching the grandkids playing all the sports they were involved with. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and UK fan and loved going on vacation to the beach with the family, skating, and swimming.
Bobbie is survived by her loving daughters, Carla (Clay) Cunningham, Sherri (Johnny) Morgan, and Cindy (Chip) Beasley, sister Patricia “Tootie” Coulter; her brother Donnie (Isabel) Carter; eight grandchildren, Jeff (Ashley) Orberson, Sarah Orberson, Brooks (Michelle) Cunningham, Anna (Will) Anderson, Chris (Stephanie) Morgan, Josh (Gina) Morgan, Cody Beasley, Dylan (Mariah) Beasley; ten great-grandchildren, Will Orberson, Carter Orberson, Jack Orberson, Hunter Orberson, Claire Morgan, Briggs Morgan, Adah Morgan Arthur Beasley, Cyrus Beasley, and Jackson Cunningham, and many friends and family who will remember her for her kindness, warmth, and vibrant spirit.
Visitation will be held at Salt River Baptist Church on December 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Chris Morgan, Clay Cunningham, Johnny Morgan, Chip Beasley, Jeff Orberson, Josh Morgan, Cody Beasley, and Dylan Beasley. Honorary pallbearers will be Will Orberson, Jack Orberson, Briggs Morgan, and Brooks Cunningham. The burial will be with her husband at Danville Memorial Gardens.

  3. Bobbie was one great Christian lady, and I so enjoy her Monday night ladies bible study group at Salt River Baptist. Prayers for all.

  4. We loved Bobbie and James Lee. She was our dear friend. We enjoyed working together on Wednesday nights with the youth. She always talked about her grandchildren . She was so proud of them. Keeping the family in our prayers.

  5. My deepest condolences to Carla, Sherri, Cindy and their families in the passing of Bobbie. Aunt Bobbie loved her family dearly and was extremely proud of all of them. Bobbie was a wonderful, kind and loving person who had a strong faith. She had a heart for young people. No doubt many individuals lives were eternally impacted as a result of Bobbie’s witness. I will be forever grateful for the love, kindness and acceptance shown me by both Uncle Jim and Aunt Bobbie. God bless you Bobbie. I love you. May you rest in eternal peace.
