Betty Jane Dimitt Ramey, 96, of Danville died on January 6, 2024. She is the widow of Dr. James W. Ramey. Betty was born October 18, 1927, in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Chester C. Dimitt and Margaret Oakley Dunn. She was a 1946 graduate of Mt. Sterling High School where she was a cheerleader, she attended the University of Kentucky and was a member of Alpha Xi Delta. Betty also taught tap dancing for many years and loved traveling with Dr. Ramey, but she was proudest of being a mother to her boys. She was predeceased by her husband, daughter Margaret Myers, granddaughter Kelly Myers, and sister Edna Mae Dimitt. Betty is survived by her children Rocky (Carla) Myers of Franklin, Tennessee, Rodney (Faye) Myers of Mt. Sterling, Johnny Myers of Mt. Sterling, Benny (Carrie) Myers of Danville, Steve (Becky) Ramey of Danville, Madison (Shelby) Ramey of Denver, Colorado, Aaron (Krissy) Ramey of Paducah, and Daniel (Della) Ramey of Junction City; grandchildren, Griffin Myers, John Fielding Myers, Alex  Myers, Mark Myers, Kara Myers, Zach Ramey, Killian Ramey, Christina Owens, Kelly Steele Casey, Andrew Ramey, Mike Lewis, Robert Lewis, Daniel (Morgan) Lewis, Andon Ramey, Amree Ramey, Avela Ramey, Addox Ramey and Dakota Milton, and great-grandchildren,  Landon Humes, Evie Myers, Caleb Webb, Colton Webb, Chelsea Webb, Wilson Myers, Henry Myers, Cooper Myers, Sheppard Myers, Matthew Lewis, Harper Lewis, Aslyn Lewis, Katie Bastin, and Elizabeth Owens. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Grizzell. The visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday before the service. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery, pallbearers will be Caleb Webb, Colton Webb, Landon Humes, Alex Myers, Mark Myers, John Fielding Myers, and Malcolm Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be staff and friends at Morning Pointe. Memorial donations are suggested to Heritage Hospice.
