Bernard B. Lister, 83, died August 26, 2021 at Baptist Health in Lexington. He was born September 7, 1937 in Perryville, Kentucky, son of the late Sloan Easland and Edna Marie Coffman Lister. Bernard graduated from Danville High School in 1956 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the American Legion. He served in the United States Air National Guard for eight years as a staff sergeant. Bernard worked for GTE as a business service supervisor and was the past president of GTE-ITPA Charitable Foundation. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids, cheering for the Wildcats, traveling, fishing, and playing golf. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Sloan Lister, Jr., and his sister Alberta Triplett.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Thelma Jean Robertson Lister; two daughters, Stacy (Dan) Muir of Paris, KY, and Dana (Gregg) Frondal of Danville; five grandchildren, Kristen Carrier, Kenton Carrier, Karson Carrier, Christopher Frondal, and Shelby Frondal; a brother, Mark (Geraldine) Lister of Danville; a sister-in-law, Patricia Lister; and multiple nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church in Danville. Rev. Brent Rowe will officiate the service. Burial will be at Bellevue Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his sons-in-laws, grandsons, and great nephew. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Reeves, Dave Torgerson, Rusty Cox, and Mike Brummet. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church. Memorial donations are suggested to GTE-ITPA Charitable Foundation.
