Benny Myers
December 12, 1962 ~ February 6, 2024
David Benjamin \"Benny\" Myers, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, friend, and dedicated paramedic, passed away on February 6, 2024, at the age of 61. He was born on December 12, 1962, in Mount Sterling, KY, he is the son of the late Dr. James and Betty Ramey. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his niece Kelley Webb.
Benny\'s true passion in life was serving others as a paramedic. He found immense fulfillment in his work at Alpha Event Medicine and Boyle County EMS where he touched countless lives with his unwavering kindness and compassionate care. Benny\'s dedication to his profession earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and all those he encountered during his career.
Benny\'s warm and caring nature extended beyond his professional life. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, making a lasting impact on the lives he touched. In his free time, he enjoyed watching UK basketball games and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. Outside of his work, Benny cherished the time spent with his loving family and friends.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Carrie May Myers, his siblings Rocky (Carla) Myers of Franklin, Tennessee, Rodney (Faye) Myers of Mt. Sterling, Johnny Myers of Mt. Sterling, Steve (Becky) Ramey of Danville, Madison (Shelby) Ramey of Denver, Colorado, Aaron (Krissy) Ramey of Paducah, and Daniel (Della) Ramey of Junction City, his brother-in-law Stuart (Lisa) May of Danville, his nieces and nephews Griffin Myers, John Fielding (Katie) Myers, Kurt Myers, Kara Myers, Mark Myers, Ashtin (Jonathan) Haegy, Austin (Jenny) May, Alex (Cassidy) May, Avery May, Zach Ramey, Killian Ramey, Christina Owens, Kelly Steele Casey, Andrew Ramey, Mike Lewis, Robert Lewis, Daniel (Morgan) Lewis, Andon Ramey, Amree Ramey, Avela Ramey, Addox Ramey and Dakota Milton, and many great nieces and Nephews
A visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2024, at Hedgeville Baptist Church, where friends and family can gather to celebrate Benny\'s life. The funeral service will 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2024, also at Hedgeville Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Grizzell. Pallbearers will be J. Malcolm Miller, Jonathan Wesley, Aaron Stamper, Brandon Jenkins, Dale Knight, Allen Bottoms, Daniel Pilcher, and Jeff Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be Alpha Event Medicine and Boyle County EMS. The burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
Memorial donations are suggested to Danville-Boyle County Humane Society or Heritage Hospice.
Visitation: 4 – 7 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2024, at Hedgeville Baptist Church
Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Hedgeville Baptist Church
Burial: Bellevue Cemetery
