Barbara Mason

Barbara Sue Richardson Mason, 74, of Junction City died February 3, 2023, at the Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation. She was born in Danville on March 23, 1948, daughter of the late William Harvey and Margaret Loella Wilson Richardson. She was a homemaker, and her faith was part of her strength.  She was a member of Junction City Wesleyan Church.  Barbara enjoyed gathering her family and friends for potluck lunches. Her cat “Kitty Baby” was precious to her as was her love for the harmonious Gospel Quartet, “The Inspirations”.  Most importantly to Barbara was the love she had for her family. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; son, Christopher Herring; and daughter, Guyla Simpson. Barbara is survived by her husband, Tudor Mason her son, William Nelson Herring; daughters, Cassie Herring, Diane Hernandez and Tonya Nester; twelve grandchildren including, Amber Simpson, Heather Simpson, Savannah Hodge, Matthew Simpson; and twenty great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Reverend Bobby Tolson will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Wilson-Fairview Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Stith Funeral Home.
