Barbara Ann Lively, 86 of Danville, KY, died June 22, 2024. Her children have been by her side constantly. Born on April 16, 1938, in Algood, TN, to the late William T. “Buster” and Myrtle Carr Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Doris Jean Richardson, Champ Stewart, Nancy Bilbrey, and Dwight Stewart.

Barbara was a homemaker who took pride in caring for her family and providing a loving home. She was known for making the best sweet tea and spent 25 years doing childcare in her home, where she adored the children she looked after. She was a loving mother of four and devoted wife of 47 years to the late Thomas E. Lively.

Barbara had a passion for gardening and spent her days digging in the dirt, planting beautiful flowers. She was an avid fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats and loved cheering them on during games. A faithful member of Ft. Logan Church of Christ, she found comfort and community in her church family.
She will be greatly missed and forever remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and gentle spirit.

She is survived by her children Lori Lively (David) White, Lisa L. Lively, Eric T. (Elizabeth Garrasi) Lively, and Jill E. Lively, as well as three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Barbara’s memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville with Tom Hollon officiating. Pallbearers will be David Brock, Eric Lively, David Richardson, Tim Wallace, Tom Collins, and Ryan Hammer. A private burial will follow.

  4. Barbara took care of my son EVERY weekday from the time he was five months old until he turned four. We began a friendship of over forty years. Barbara and her family were an important part of our family’s life.
