Annabel (Percival) Hill, 98, passed away on August 30, 2024, in Danville, Kentucky. Born on August 18, 1926, in Walton, Kentucky, Annabel spent her early years in the same town, attending Verona High School.
Annabel was a beloved member of the Danville community, where she worked at Dukes Laundry. She was a Willow Grove Baptist Church member throughout her life, reflecting deep faith and commitment to her community. She was loved and known by many.
Known for her love of people and a keen interest in antiques, she would often be found browsing local antique shops. Her love for animals was profound, especially for her poodle Sophie. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, watched UK basketball, and was passionate about collecting antiques. She cherished moments with her family, which were integral to her life.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her daughter Kathryn Wray and her husband Mike; grandson Chris Wray and his wife Shannon Wray of Georgetown, KY; granddaughter, Sarah Moss and her husband Lee-Thomas of Harrodsburg, KY; great-grandchildren, Alexa Moss, Olivia Moss, Adalynn Wray, and Jillian Wray; niece, Carrie Roark and her husband Bob of Walton, KY; and nephew Tom Armstrong and his wife Paula of Verona, KY. Annabel was preceded in death by her husband Charles S. Hill; her sister Margaret Armstrong; and her parents, Edith and Thomas Percival.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville, with visitation at 11 am, Thursday, September 5, 2024, prior to the service with Rev. Brad King officiating. The pallbearers will be Mike Wray, Lee-Thomas Moss, Chris Wray, and Tom Armstrong along with honorary pallbearer Jim Downey. The burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with her husband.
Contributions in memory of Annabel can be made to Heritage Hospice or the Danville – Boyle County Humane Society, a cause close to her heart due to her love for animals.
Annabel’s life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, as a woman who nurtured both her garden and her relationships with equal passion and dedication.
