Anna Mae Simpson Brand, 76, died Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was born in Danville on July 28, 1944 to the late Coleman Henry, Sr., and Louise Adams Simpson. Anna was a graduate from Bate High School, and she worked for Centre College. Anna attended Hope Full Gospel Church and loved her church family. She enjoyed playing cards, sitting outside, and riding around with the “Golden Girls.” Anna loved spending time with her family. She was an avid fan of UK Basketball and Danville Admiral Football. As of late, Anna enjoyed communicating with every one of her “million” friends through Facebook. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, George Brand; two brothers, Coleman Simpson, Jr., James “Jiggs” Lancaster; two sisters, Lillian Baker and Mary Elizabeth Lancaster. She is survived by her daughter, Marie Brand Cloud (Mack) of Danville; two sisters, Dora Yocum, Evelyn Simpson Ganns both of Danville; three grandchildren, Wesley Cloud (Sara), Sequoya Brand Cloud, Preciouse Montgomery; eight great grandchildren, Brayden, Zavier, Jeffrey, Mya, Henry, and Carsyn Cloud, Kylinn and Kreed Warner; her brother-in-law, William Ganns. The funeral service will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City. Rev. Casey Curtis and Rev. Ralph Smith will officiate. Pallbearers will be Chris Simpson, Shawn Napier, James Griffin, Kruz Warner, Patrick Brand, Tre’Kale Simpson, Clifford Dawson, and Keith Houston. Honorary pallbearers will be Toby Houston, Blake Napier, Damani Del Rosario, Dante Simpson, Akili Simpson and Jacody Taylor. Burial will be in Hilldale Cemetery. Visitation will be 11-1, prior to the service, on Saturday at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City. Please sign the online guestbook and send a Hugs from Home.
