Amanda Lee Ross, 46, died Saturday, October 14, 2017. She was born in Lexington, Kentucky on January 27, 1971 to Gary Sr. and Connie Gordon Ross. She was a graduate of Tates Creek High School and attended Lexington Community College. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and a former employee of Cinemark Theatres and a Volunteer at the VA Hospital. Amanda loved to needlepoint, read, and work word search books. Amanda was diagnosed with Common Variable Immunodeficiency as a child. Her CVID resulted in a brain abscess, renal failure and many other medical problems throughout her life. She battled CVID, but never lost her smile or will to live and desire to make someone else’s day better. She would light up a room, made many friends at the dialysis center and was always a ray of sunshine in another’s day. Friends came to see her smile to brighten their day, often bringing her little presents to brighten her day. She loved her family, friends, and her dogs, and made her life as full as possible. She was an inspiration to all. She is predeceased by her grandparents, James and Veda Ross and Eugene and Maxine Gordon. In addition to her parents, Gary and Connie Ross, she is survived by two brothers, Gary D. (Heidi) Ross Jr. of McKinney, Texas and Mark D. (Karen) Ross of Independence, Kentucky; three nieces, Savannah Ross, Jessica Ross, Catherine Ross; a nephew, Cameron Ross; and her special friend, Darren Linville. The funeral service will be held at 11 am, Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Rev. Mike James will officiate. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Stinnett, Danny Stinnett, Matt Ross, Richie Lyons, and Larry Gordon. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Kidney Foundation of Central Kentucky. Funeral Service: 11 am, Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville Burial: Bellevue Cemetery, Danville Visitation: 5 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at the funeral home.

  3. So very sad to see this beautiful ray of sunshine leave our earthly presence. Amanda always radiated happiness and her smile was infectious to all those with whom she came into contact. She fought a valiant battle her entire life but never once did we ever hear her complain. She always would share her many different procedures she underwent and was very knowledgeable of each and every surgery. She had a beautiful inner spirit that will continue to burn bright in the hearts of all of us that were privileged to get to know her personally. Godspeed Amanda. May our Lord and Savior wrap His loving arms around you and restore you to good health as you reunite with family members gone before. God bless you sweet angel.
