Alice Arnold Curtis Gilbert, 79, of Danville, Ky., passed away June 13, 2021. She was born April 9, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Logan and Lillian Kelley Arnold. Survivors include her three children, a daughter, Lonna Kay Gilbert of Nicholasville, Ky., and two sons, Mike (Teresa) Curtis of Junction City, Ky., and Jeff (Louise) Curtis of Danville, Ky., and their father, Bobby Curtis of Stanford, Ky. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, Lon Kenneth Gilbert, a sister, Dorothy Arnold Middlekamp of Kansas, and a brother, Richard M. Arnold of Lancaster, Ky. Other survivors include, one brother Logan (Betty) Arnold Jr., and three sisters, Betty Arnold Wood and her husband, Dr. Jim Gulley, Margaret Arnold Simpson, and Virginia Arnold Ray, all of Lancaster, Ky. Alice was the grandmother to seven grandchildren, Clint (Brie) Curtis of Danville, Ky., Logan (Abigail) Curtis of Lula, Georgia., Shawna (Jordan) Howard of Lexington, Ky., Brittany Curtis of Richmond, Ky., Nikki Schroeder (Jacob), Alli Rogers (Derrick) and Lillian Kate Gilbert, all of Nicholasville, Ky; six great-grandchildren, Connor and Kaydence Howard, Zac and Adrianna Jinez of Lexington, Ky., Waylon and Whitley Curtis of Danville, Ky., and Lilliana Curtis of Lula, Georgia. She worked for several years as a PCC for Beltone Hearing Center in Danville. She was retired from both R.R. Donnelley, where she worked as a front desk receptionist and American General Insurance of Danville. She also worked for many years at the Selective Service System, Local Board No. 28, as an executive secretary in Garrard County. Alice worked many years as an insurance agent and served in all offices of the Wilderness Trail Association of Life Underwriters. She also worked for Penn Corp Financial, as an insurance license instructor, teaching the 40-hour class, required before taking the exam for a licensed agent. She was a member of Shelby Baptist Church of Junction City. Visitation will be 12 - 2 pm, Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City, prior to the Funeral Service at 2 pm. Rev. Mike Crain will officiate with a eulogy by Dr. Laura Wood and Tim White. There will be a private burial at Danville Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be J.K. Simpson, Fred Simpson Jr., Chris Stratton, Daniel Stratton, Buddy Maupin, Buddy Rogers, Gilbert Charles Lee and Roy Gibson.   4. One of my fondest memories of working at RRD was the warm smile and happy disposition of Alice. She made even the toughest day easier to take. Despite miles separating us over the last decade, her love of basketball and the Wildcats always kept us in contact. My deepest condolences for your loss and my prayers go out to you and all of your family in this difficult time.
