John Michael “Mike” Spellacy, 77, of Danville, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on July 16, 2026.  Mike was born on November 9, 1948, in Front Royal, Virginia, to the late Edward Spellacy and the late Lucille Spellacy.

He began his law enforcement career as a detective with the Parkersburg Police Department, later worked for the National Automobile Theft Bureau in Illinois and Kentucky, and concluded his career as a Fire Inspector with the Kentucky State Police.

Outside of his career, Mike enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and golfing. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan who rarely missed cheering on his favorite team. Mike also had a special love for his dogs, and his faithful companion, Jake, held a treasured place in his heart.
