Martha Louise Bizot McAllister, 79, died on October 24, 2026. She was born in
Washington D.C. on November 4, 1946, to the late Hyland Augustus and Lucille Mary
Parduhn Bizot. In addition to her parents, Martha was predeceased by her son Stephen
Philip McAllister.
Martha is survived by her son Alex Martin (Julie Eberhardt) McAllister, grandchildren
Benjamin Martin (Jordan Hale) McAllister, Daniel John McAllister, and Ella Margaret
McAllister, and a great-grandchild, Meredith Jane McAllister; daughter-in-law Kimberly
Mathews McAllister and grandchildren, Owen Philip McAllister and Grant Everett
McAllister; sisters, Mary Francis (Jude) Franklin, and Rita Theresa (Robert) Quarles,
and brother, Paul Martin (Elizabeth Butler) Bizot; nieces and nephews, Pamela Mary
(Brian Bishop) Franklin, Erik Jude (Sarah Hayter) Franklin, Brian Robert (Megan
Bloomgren) Quarles, Elizabeth Louise Bizot, and Victoria Marie Bizot; and great nieces

Martha mostly grew up in Wheaton, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C., and lived
most of her life in the D.C.-area, along with Oregon, Virginia, and West Virginia, until
moving to Danville, Kentucky in 2005. She loved hiking, particularly on Sugarloaf
Mountain, in the Shenandoah Valley, and through numerous national parks and Civil
War battlefields. Martha attended Trinity College, University of Maryland, and Catholic
University of America, from which she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in nursing.
One of her last nursing positions included caring for cancer patients at the National
Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, after which she worked as a teacher’s aide
for elementary school special education classrooms. Martha loved her family deeply
and with exceptional generosity, and was grateful for visits, cards, and letters, when she
was less able to travel. She enjoyed working on puzzles, reading books and National
Geographic, and watching mass, the news, and westerns on television. Martha was a
parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church since 2005, primarily as a home-visit
parishioner, and a memorial mass will be held at the church at a later date.
