John Fulton

John Alan Fulton, 72 of Danville, died on July 3, 2026. He was born on September 20, 1953, in Dewitt, Arkansas to the late William Ben Jr, and Myrtle Jean Rash Fulton. John made profound contributions to the lives of those around him through his career as a psychologist and his compassionate spirit. He is predeceased by a brother, Bruce Fulton, and his wife, Helen Fulton.

John’s educational journey began at Dewitt High School, where he cultivated a love for learning that would follow him throughout his life. He pursued his passion for psychology by obtaining a bachelor’s degree from Arkansas Technical College, followed by a master’s from Eastern Kentucky University and his doctorate from the University of Kentucky.

John found solace in biking and was an avid reader. His love for music was reflected in his appreciation for blues and jazz and he was a passionate gardener. His spiritual retreats at the Abbey of Gethsemani in Trappist, Kentucky, provided him with a haven of peace and reflection. He was also a volunteer at Heritage Hospice and was honored as the “Volunteer of the Year” in 2024.

John is survived by his son Daniel “Danny” (Ashlee) Fulton, daughter Amy (John Mitchell) Fulton, his beloved granddaughter Cain Lee Fulton and brother William “Ben” Fulton.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Stith Funeral Home of Danville. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service. Rev. Emily Badgett will be officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brother Luke Armour, Steve Middleton, Don Nicholas and Steve Ashcraft.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association in John’s name.
