April 9, 1927 ~ December 29, 2025

Lois Weigle, of Danville, Kentucky (formerly of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania), passed into the arms of the Lord on December 29, 2025 at the age of 98. She was born in Sharpeville, Pennsylvania in 1927 to George M. and Ella G. Woods. She was married to William J. Weigle Jr. (Ellwood City and Danville) for 72 years, until his passing in 2020.

Known to most as “Peg”, she was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed knitting. Many friends and family were gifted clothing crafted by her hand. She was a defender of personal liberty and followed current events closely. Her interests ranged from theology and history to stories of her adopted state of Kentucky. She passed her love of learning and reading to her children and grandchildren, often telling stories of her own growing up during the Great Depression and World War II. She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Ellwood City, and later The Presbyterian Church of Danville.

She is survived by her three children; Janet Gareau and Jean Smith of Danville, and James Weigle of Clearwater, Florida. She was the proud grandparent of five and great-grandparent of eight residing in Louisville, Lexington, Versailles and Danville.

Private internment at Camp Nelson National Cemetery will take place at a future date. She will be missed.
